The Product Review Edit

This project showcased a great tool for any content creator who wants to streamline their pre-production process and create music video treatments that are descriptive, to the point, and catchy.

Short and to the point, this edit shifted the focus away from a dry recitation of facts and figures and onto what those features do to make a user’s tasks easier or more fun.

Since the aim here was to entertain and inform, static images on the screen were kept to less than 3 seconds and coupled with quick, clean edits & lots of them.

The How-To Edit

To quickly document and condense the key project details and inform viewers about how to release new music on Spotify and Apple Music, this video was shot, edited, and published in under 36 hours.

Since most of the video consists of “talking heads” and stills, I used multiple punches, zoom, overlays, and sound effects to add visual and auditory variety.

Attention to pacing and adding screenshots and motion graphics help to improve retention.

The first 30 seconds were also crafted specifically to create several “curiosity hooks” that compel viewers to keep watching.

The Remote Interview Edit

This project interweaves footage from a remote interview with scripted voiceover and on-camera segments to create a singular message.

Starting with over 1 hour of interview footage, I had to cut, condense, and re-order clips in order to “find the story” within the podcast interview.

Combined with the scripted narration, this process resulted in a hybrid final product akin to newscasts and podcasts found on network television and podcast platforms like Apple and Spotify.

The Short-Form Edit

While I specialize in long-form, high production-value projects, I’ve also worked on short-form videos which have garnered thousands of views across YouTube Shorts, Instagram, and Twitter. Moreover, I have served as the on-camera talent and consulted on Canine Scent Detection and obedience training for businesses, nano and micro-influencers, and clients.

The Music Video (Behind the Scenes) Edit

I am a CCM indie-folk pop artist singer-songwriter. For the “Simple Things” release, I edited this music video which garnered over 600 views. In addition to this video, I wrote the song itself.

The Cooking Edit

This project utilized multiple camera angles and sequenced the preparation process to allow the audience to follow along and have an easy, non-overlapping reference point for each element of the recipe. I utilized LEDs and practical lighting to capture the food details with no distracting shadows.

Video Content Marketing Service

Bottom Line Up Front (BLUF): Video can increase your leads and sales and boost your bottom line. Over the past few years, the pressure to use videos as part of your business marketing efforts has grown exponentially. As a small business owner, however, you are constantly bombarded with “things you should be doing” and the “next best thing.” To many, video falls into the same categories. Luckily, the usefulness of video marketing has been proven many times over.

In a world of endless video content and ever-increasing competition, the difference between great and merely good can also mean vastly more views, subscribers, and sales.

Greatness is not merely a result of editing; a compelling topic, an emotionally engaging title and thumbnail, and truly interesting source material are all requirements.

Without great editing, though, significant effort (and money spent) in the rest of the process can all go to waste. Great editing is an investment.

Editing is an art form that takes many shapes and sizes. Sometimes, all it takes is a few precise cuts in the right places. In other instances, it's all about conveying emotion without being overt. At other times, adding motion graphics, sound effects, or perfectly timed cuts can take a video from good to great.

But truly great editing is not just about technical skills. It's about having taste and understanding the context in which the video will be consumed. Who is the audience? When and where will they be watching? What's the purpose of the video? To make sales? To go viral? To change people's hearts and minds? Or to produce art?

When you work with me, you're not just getting access to my technical expertise or cool sound effects libraries and stock footage. You're investing in my taste, understanding of context, fast turnaround times, and excellent communication. That's why I charge more than the average rate and why my results are far better.

So, what’s the value of video?

  • Video Leverages Consumers’ Consumption of Content That Is Going Up and Heading Higher

  • Video Reaches People in their Preferred Medium

  • Video Increases Your Marketing Reach and Duration

  • Video Drives More Leads

  • Video Drives More Sales

  • Video Contributes to the Bottom Line

With these video marketing facts in mind, and if you're serious about creating world-class video content that will take your online presence to the next level, contact me for a custom proposal.
